UPDATE

With regards to the case of the 10 emaciated cats that was reported previously, we are happy to update that the cats are doing well and have been putting on weight.

We have made contact with the family that abandoned the cats and have evacuated another 17 cats from their home for sterilisation and treatment. AVA is currently investigating into this case of abandonment and neglect, and we will update when there are new developments.

Of the cats that are currently fostered and cared for, 10 were extremely emaciated. The remaining cats that were evacuated are of decent condition and the suitable ones sterilised. The worst is over as the remaining cats currently still in the flat are doing well and will be gradually sterilised when they are of age.

We are working with delicacy towards a pre-agreed number of sterilised cats to be kept under their care and monitored to ensure that the cats can be kept within their means. This is to minimise the risk of them picking up other unsterilised cats in future and spinning out of control again.

Some of the cats are now up for adoption to good and responsible homes that will give them a second chance at life. Photos of the cats can can be seen in the following slideshow:

How You Can Help:
We are appealing for adopters for these rescued cats so that they can be well cared for in good, responsible homes and given a brand new lease of life.

CWS will be screening interested adopters to ensure that these cats can find suitable permanent, loving homes. An adoption fee of $40 per cat will be levied. All adopters need to agree to sterilising the cats before adoption (if of age and as yet unsterilised, or once the cat is of age in future). CWS will then arrange for sterilisation at one of our partner veterinary clinics at a subsidised rate for the adopter.

We received information from others that he have roamed to bedok north / bedok south area and he seems to be in a very weak condition. Hi,

I need help urgently.

This is extremely difficult for me to give away my boys but I really have no choice. I had sold my house and have to move by the end of this month. I have searched high and low for an affordable place that allows dogs but to no avail. In order to keep them I have to get landed property which I can't afford.

So hopefully you will be able to help me find them a loving home cause I do not want to send them to SPCA.

My boys - Tyson and Levis are about 10-11 months old. They are brothers and are very playful with each other, they are also extremely loving and active. Like they would come to you and try to touch you with their paw and they will insist for your attention by resting their head on your lap etc

Dear all

I am looking for a good home for my japanese spitz, it's a three year old male.

I adopted it from the Spca around a month ago but he's not been getting along well with my mom so i have to give it away.

Previous owner gave him up due to food aggression and also because he's not well with young children, so family with young children or probably old folks are not adviced as he can be abit snappy at times.

He is a laid back dog, loves treats and if you can get along well with him he can be a really obedient dog. We do not cage him but ban him from the rooms but he's doing well with that and create no trouble for us while we're out. He knows basic commands like sit and stay, and does not bark much either. And he is outdoor toilet-trained so we bring him down for walks every morning and evening for his toilet breaks. Mircochipped, and vaccinated as well.

Hope to find someone who have experienced in dogs as he might get abit aggressive at times and also one who have no problems in commiting to bring him for his toilet breaks everyday. We spend quite alot of money of his necessarities, but we're not asking for any in return. Just hope to find a good owner for him.

ADOPT: Mother Cat saved from AVA in nick of time

There are 1 kitten mama and 2 kittens for adoption.

The kitten mama was captured by the AVA at Choa Chu Kang Crescent due to complaints from some cruel residents and was supposed to be put to death. I saved her from the jaws of death the last minute and when she was reunited with her 2 kittens, she kept licking them just as a loving mother would.

Her previous batch of kittens were murdered by a psychopath killer at Choa Chu Kang Crescent. They were poisoned and had their necks slashed. The police were called in but no suspect was caught.

They are now under temporary foster care but they need a permanent home.

This female cat of barely the weight of a 2 month kitten was found to be deaf, damaged and sickly. In recent times, she has also gotten a leg injury that leaves her semi-limping as she walks in a lop-sided fashion.

She is prone to falling into drains, appears to have some respiratory problems and will not hear oncoming traffic as she crosses the road. This is a dangerous situation.

My friend is only able to keep the shih tzu for the night (without her parents knowledge) as her parents are against having pets around the house. Yes both dogs were found sitting by the side of the road at lor Chuan. Thank god a very kind lady saw them, took them home n went to buy them food from a pet shop n told them she found two dogs. That's when the owners found out when they went to put up posters at the same pet shop. Very lucky indeed.

Hi, found a Shih Tzu along Yunnan Crescent (Jurong West, St.93) for afew days already.

Been bringing it around to see if she can lead herself home but to no avail.

I got the pet shop uncle to fetch to the vet to scan for micro chipped but there's none and the uncle said that it's a shih tzu.

I have 3 large dogs that I can barely coped and with them under tick infestation, it's a nightmare. But I will still keep her as she's a real angel compared to my 3 spolit doggies. But hopefully can find her owner as cannot give her the required companionship.

When one-year-old Snow, a Japanese Spitz, saw its owner leave the house it ran out after him without anyone noticing. It has been more than a day since and she has yet to return home.

ADOPT: 9mo stray female puppy that's getting too big for fosterer's HDB flat

My husband saved a puppy (stray dog), black and white about 9 months ago.

We raised her in our small HDB flat, brought her to take her 1st jab, but not able to get any certificate for her, as according to the Vet, no licence for such breed.

We are facing problems now, she's getting bigger as grows older, I think I cannot keep her in our HDB flat.

I'm not willing to send her to SPCA, as she will be PTS when no one adopts her.

This poor Sharpei was abandoned at an industrial estate some three months back and kind hearted people have been going down to feed him. He is very scared and is terribly lost on the streets. We're not sure, but he doesnt seem to be able to see very well.

People who tire of their pets should either make an effort to rehome them or choose a more humane option. Dumping their pets at faraway locations and hope they never find their way home and die a slow death is not something you should do to your companion animal who ahs been by your side loyally for the past years . . . . Dont take the easy way out! Show some heart and responsibility. If only you could see the sadness in his eyes . . . . .

Hi podders,I'm putting this up at as many places as I can.

Today I was walking home and I saw a Siberian Husky wandering around aimlessly.I suspect that it has been abandoned.

The fur has been very badly shaved.

Now,I myself is a dog owner of a 14 yrs old maltese with all sorts of skin conditions before.I also tried to shave my dog when it was still a puppy.So I am sure it is very badly shaved as the texture of the coat is very uneven.That's why I'm sure it had been shaved unprofessionally.NOT SKIN DISEASE.
It is currently shedding its undercoat.

Hi everyone,

A friend of mine found a 2 years old male Husky that was roaming in Jurong West area. The friendly husky was in bad shape. Underweight and with lumps of matted fur on the body.

The Husky is now boarding in a dog kennel and we hope to find a permanant home/foster for it as soon as possible as the rescuer can't sustain the boarding fee ($400 per month) for long.

The Husky is friendly towards everyone and other dogs as well, however he has one undescended testicle (one testicle that remains inside the body, while one is outside, like other male dogs) that may result in higher incidence to testicular diseases or tumours if he is not sterilise.

Adopters need to :

-Sign an adoption form before adoption
-Sterilise the dog after adoption
-Microchip and apply license for the dog
-Allow the foster to visit the dog after adoption
-Only stay in private apartments. HDB dwellers need not apply (it is not a HDB approved breed)

Note: Adopter must understand that the Husky is an active breed of dog that sheds seasonally and has a high energy level. It must be brought out for walks daily if not it may turn destructive at home.

anyone lost a cross white terrier/westie? my friend found a male dog with skin prob this morning at toa payoh. it is microchipped, very tame and obeys basic commands.

the dog was found at toa payoh around lor 4. he is a sterilised male dog. i think he is a cross westie cos the ears are not tipped. He has skin prob and ear infection. we have sent him to see the vet and he is currently on medication.He is quite tame and obeys basic commands like "sit", and also likes to sleep on my bed.
