FOSTER/ADOPT: Amber the mother cat

Earlier this evening, my boyfriend's family found 1 mother cat and 4 kittens hidden in an old box that's stashed behind their living room couch. They're unable to keep them and are housing the family of 5 till suitable adopters are found.

There is 1 mother cat and 4 kittens up for adoption in total: 3 black & white and 2 tabby as shown in the photo. Genders are not confirmed yet as the kittens are only a few days old and are really fresh from the oven.

Adopters must fulfill the following criteria:
1. have a real love for cats and not just cos they're cute and furry
2. preferably have experience in owning/keeping a cat
3. provide a copy of IC, valid living address and contact number, if adoption is successful
4. to vaccinate and immunise the kittens upon adoption
5. to sterilise the kittens once they are 6 months old
5. to vaccinate, immunise and sterilise the mother cat upon adoption

*Update as at 2306hrs 30/8: I've checked the gender of the kittens and there are 3 boys and 1 girl.

**1. Update as at 5 Sep: Amber (the mother cat) has been successfully litter trained! All 4 kittens have also opened their eyes.

2. Update as at 8 Sep: My friends are unable to foster the family of 5 any longer. I am seeking for other foster homes that are willing to take them in temporarily till the kittens are old enough to be independent of their mother. Unfortunately, I've still been unable to find a suitable foster home for the cats and will need to resort to either housing them at a boarding home or at worst, to release them back onto the streets.

As a last resort, I'm seeking donations to help fund the boarding home stay, which will amount to $400/month for all 5 of them.

I'm also gathering funds to help vaccinate/sterilise/deworm the kittens/mother who do not get adopted once they have weaned off their mother. I'm unable to undertake these extra costs upon myself as I am also funding their daily requirements. Do contact me if you would like to help.

The kittens have grown up significantly and will soon be ready for adoption.

I haven't been able to find any adopters yet and I'm trying to avoid having to release them back onto the streets as a last resort.

All 4 kittens have been confirmed for adoption, with 2 which were collected on Saturday.

Amber hasn't found a home yet as no one has come forth for her.

SOS! FOSTER: Ginger the wounded male stray who's been at vet for over a month

Hi!

I am seeking assistance to help board the wounded stray, Ginger who has been at the vet for over a month.

Medical bills are going well over $1400 and I can't afford to keep him there any longer. As his wound is not healed completely, releasing him might cause the wound to be infected again.

Ginger needs his wound cleaned once every 2 days and antibiotics with his meals. He has to wear the ecollar through the process as he loves to scratch at his wound.

I have cats of my own and am unable to take him in. I can however help out with the expenses to care for him.

FOSTER/NEED LOST-COST BOARDING FOR 6 CATS FOR 6 MONTHS

Hi, I badly need help. I have 6 cats. Used to be all in my hostel.

Then my company closed down due to some problems. And I was forced to give up my rental apartment and go back home to stay.

Now my family is threatening to throw my cats away. I WILL not allow that. I love my cats too much. I am willing to pay for the cat food etc... they jus need a place to stay for 6 mths till i get back on my feet and i can pick them back.

Please help i love my cats too much to have them thrown away like trash...

SPONSOR/FOSTER/ADOPT/VOLUNTEER: many cats and dogs whose caregiver died from stroke

For those who do not already knew Mdm Truong, she was a patient and kind elderly lady who had helped many caregivers with fostering of their cats and dogs. She had been a caregiver for many years and had helped to sterilise strays as well as foster many cats which needed special care. She had dedicated most of her time in looking after the animals and had been great help to many other caregivers who sought her help.

It was unfortunate that Mdm Truong had passed away suddenly on Monday morning, 12 July 2010 due to stroke. Some animal lovers have come together this morning, 13 July 2010 to help clean up her place, helped to feed the animals and are trying to relocate them. We need to relocate all the cats to a shelter as her elderly husband cannot take care of all the animals due to health reasons.

How You Can Help:
We would like to appeal for immediate funds to cover the cost of boarding at the shelter, as well as that of sterilisations of some of the cats. As of now, 53 cats needed to go to a shelter while 13 cats need to be sent to the vet for sterilisation in the next 2 days.

A kind lady has offered her help to foster 12 kittens and try to rehome them. Another kind lady has also offered help to foster 4 dogs for a few days. As she has several dogs at home, she will be not able to foster them for too long. We are urgently looking for fosterers for the 4 dogs while we try to rehome the younger ones.

Approximate Cost:

Cost of Shelter: $1,400/month
(1 kind lady has contributed $1,000 so that we can send the cats to the shelter today. We’re still short of $1,800 for deposit.)
Sterilisation of 13 cats: $900 (10 female + 3 males. Assuming all the 10 female cats are pregnant)

We’ll like to thank the fosterers, contributors and volunteers who helped to clean up the place early this morning, as well as the transporter who helped to catch and relocate the animals to the shelter given such short notice.

Hi Everyone! I need to find a good home for my Princely Putra (a year n a half) cat.

My 6yr old daughter has been diagnosed as asthmatic and the problem is, she's very attached to Putra. We love him very much. Unfortunately, we need to seperate them.

The 13 kittens on St John's Island are still urgently seeking fosterers and adopters, or risk being culled if they are not rehomed.

There are also a total of 12 adult cats on the island that need to be sterilised a.s.a.p.

2) Sponsors for the sterilisation of the 12 cats
2) Assistance in trapping the cats, transporting them, etc.

It can cost around $60 to $130 to sterilise each cat, depending on the gender and the clinic. Due to the urgent nature of the case, it's unlikely that there'll be any subsidised slots available, as these have to be booked way in advance. Do contribute if you can - every little bit helps.

HELP: Foster cats for about 3 nights before/after sterilisation

As there are an increasing number of tom cats and unspayed female cats nearby my house, my family would like to try to sterilise some of them one by one. However, before sterilisation, the cat MUST fast for ard 9 hours overnight, thus it must be ensured they cannot eat. It's not possible for my family to house them cuz we alrdy have cats and small animals in our house.

We are appealing for kind people who can

1)house the cat for one night before its operation

2)house the cat for ard 2 nights after its operation, as it is still under the effects of the drug and wouldn't be alert enough to react to dangers outside if it is immediately released.

3) To preferably live near yishun, on red line.

4) To have his or her own cat carrier

We know that this is a payless job, but we all know that becuz of uncontrolled cat population, many innocent cats are often caught by organisations to put to sleep when they havent done anything wrong.

We will provide litter, litter tray and food for the the duration of the cat's stay in the person's house. We will pick the cat up from the person's house on the day of sterilisation and then bring it back to the person's house after it's operation. After 2 nights we will take the cat back to where it came from.

Actually we would prefer if the person lives near to us (Yishun) cos we will take cab to near the person's home for him or her to collect the cat. For the one night stay actually nothing much, just make sure the cat does not eat or drink anything at all during the stay.because 9 hrs prior of operation must fast. yeah sure okay with ppl who never take care of cats b4. we will try to catch a more docile cat so that will be more easy for caregiver.

45 cats in a flat! Help foster/adopt some sick kittens!

Dear all,

My friend and I have visited a unit in Jurong East St 31. There stayed an elderly malay couple who are keeping 45 unsterilized cats, 8 of which are kittens born 2 days ago. The malay uncle works in NTUC supermarket so he doesn't earn much. Some of his cats especially kittens, are malnourished and sick. His wife has kept the place pretty clean and there isn't much smell. However, some of their neighbours have complain to them about the smell.

We are not trying to raise fund here, what I need is to find adopters or foster homes for the kittens until potential adopters are found. These sick kittens need the extra care and proper diet so that they can recovered and be healthy.

SOS: Appeal to rehome 13 cats whose owner has cancer and hospitalised!

A lady is down with cancer and is now in the hospital. She has 13 cats and lives in a rented flat near Clementi. The lady is diagnosed with lung and breast cancer. She is said to have collapsed and sent to the hospital.

Her daughter, a single mum, is unable to cope and wants to send these cats to the SPCA. Luckily, Fareena gets to know of this and urges her to re-home some of these cats. The daughter is reluctant but Fareena manages to persuade her to give us 2-week to find a home for them.

Only one has been rehomed successfully. The owners has agreed to keep 7. So now only 5 more to go. They are still in Clementi.
